ROBBERY BY TWO BOY IN TRAMERE PARK --

Three lads, named George Wilson, Joseph Peers and George Coath, were charged with having stolen a blanket, belonging to Mrs. Struthers, of Victoria Road, Tranmere. The blanket was taken from a clothes line on Wednesday, and, information having been given to the police. Detective- officer Hilton went in search of the missing property. On calling at the shop of Mr. Grade, pawnbroker, the office found the prisoners Wilson and Peers with the blanket, which they were about to pledge. When questioned they said they obtained the blanket from the prisoner Coath. Afterwards the three lads admitted that they were together when the blanket was committed. Wilson and Peers were ordered to be sent to an industrial school for four years : Coath was committed to goal for a month, with hard labour.




ROBBERIES BY A WOMAN --

Catherine Hanretty was charged with stealing two pairs of trousers, and other articles, the property of Captain Wise, residing at No. 26, Dexter-Street, and a carpet, property of Mrs Faulker, living in Mulberry-Street. The two pairs of trousers, which were missed 12th instant from Mr Wise's backyard, were pledges by the prisoner. On her lodgings in Seel-street being searched, the carpet indentified by Mrs Faulkner was found. It had been taken from the back yard of the prosecutrix on the 6th instant. The prisoner pleaded guilty, and was sent to goal for four months.
